You pay them and they advertise your product. Where do they advertise their client’s products? On websites owned like yours, and mine. We sign up for the program Google calls Adsense. Adword clients pay Google to advertise, and in turn Google through Adsense pays us to publish or place the ads on our websites.

Let’s look at Google, which by the way I love.

1. We know that with Google Adsense you do not make any money unless one of your website visitors clicks on one of Google’s ads.

2. I do not know about you, but some people have told me that the wrong placement of ads, annoy them when they are trying to read your content or search for a product you may be selling.

3. People who have adsense or any other form of advertising know that visitors will leave your site and Google the ad they saw on your site to read it instead of allowing you to make a little extra money. The psychology behind this is they feel they get a better deal by getting you out of the loop which is certainly not true, never the less they do it. Yes the advertising, the Adwords works fantastically I just wish they would click on it on our site, and not leave and find it through Google search thinking they are going to save money. So this means to the website owner you have to have a high volume of visitors to realize a significant amount of return. Any amount helps, and the adsense program is free, but if you want the big bucks you have to have a high volume of traffic.
